Creating a path to somewhere else.

Finding a Niche

In the last few months I feel as though I’ve finally found my short story writing niche. I have several upcoming pieces being published, all with one thing in common: horror elements. This doesn’t come as too much of a surprise given my childhood diet of horror movies and fantasy books.

What it does mean is that I have several new pieces coming out in the next few months and in 2023.

The first one, that you can read now for free, is ‘Easily Overwhelmed’ published in Nocturnal Animals by The Quiet Ones. It’s a short horror piece about a girl consumed by the struggles of living in a capitalist hellscape. Fair warning though, if you don’t like spiders, this one might be unsettling for you. Speaking of spiders, in order to help me with my research, my partner actually tasted some cobwebs for me. Bless him.

I have more stories coming out in EerieRiver soon and some other exciting offers that I’m not allowed to talk about yet.

However! If Horror isn’t particularly your thing, I also have a sapphic romance being released soon by Lucent Dreaming. So I’ll keep you posted on that too.

In other news, as Twitter implodes, I’ve been experimenting with making a Mastodon account, so follow me on there too if you’re looking to connect.
