It’s 2023! Wow. I honestly can’t believe it. It’s the year I turn thirty and I’m cautiously hopeful for it all.
December is over, and with it go all of my deadlines. Unfortunately, in spite of my best efforts, I have fallen behind in my goals. But, it is important to take time every now and then, right? My partner keeps telling me that, anyway.
So, before I go about setting my goals for January 2023, and beyond, let’s look back at my original goals for December.
Goal 1: Thirteen Submissions
Of the thirteen submissions planned, I managed to submit ten of them! Three got away from me in the end, but I don’t think that’s so bad given how much I clearly needed a break. Hopefully some of them find homes!
Goal 2: Second Draft of Seventh Daughter
Seventh Daughter took me into a dark alleyway and beat me up. I really struggle to re-edit my own work, and I need to find some way to motivate myself to pick this project back up in January. Anyone have any suggestions?
Goal 3: Finish Act 2 of the Podcast
Finished! We are currently working on the first episode of act 3. I’m looking forward to finishing the first draft of the scripts for the podcast this year.
Goal 4: Reading
I read a lot of books this past week because I got a free month of Kindle Unlimited and my partner bought me a Kindle. So I read twenty new books in December, and several old ones on top of that. I’ll do a December reading round up at some point!
Goal 5: Spend time with my partner
I did do this! We had a lovely Christmas day together, our very first, and I’m so very glad he’s finally here with me.
What will January bring? Hopefully some new awesome stuff, I’m going to spend a few more days recovering from New Year’s before I make that goals list though!
Happy New Year!
